Please Note: this position is not for a visual design or content management role. Applicants must have solid PHP code development, MySQL database, and server skills and experience.
Essential Skills
- Ability to create custom theme templates (provide examples)
- Ability to create custom plugins (provide examples)
- Ability to customize features and functionality for both frontend user roles and admin dashboard user roles
- End-to-end understanding of the WordPress PHP framework and DB architecture
Secondary Skills
- Ability to configure, customize, and deploy installations (manual and automated)
- Ability to maintain, update, and backup installations (manual and automated)
- WP REST API

Job Description
Senior WordPress Developer will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on).
The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing new features and functionality
- Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
- Proficient in installing WP plugins and using ACF etc.
- Develop custom plugins and themes
- Ensuring high performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
- Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
- Attends to any ad hoc tasks required by the superior.
Skills and Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience developing web solutions in WordPress.
- Experience with building WordPress sites on WordPress Multisite installations
- Experience setting up WooCommerce eCommerce stores
- Strong PHP development skills
- Experience integrating with Financial Accounting solutions such as NetSuite and Xero
- Experience building WordPress themes pages.
